Fixing a behaviour problem does not take half an hour

Would you believe an advert that said it could "fix" your child's ADHD or anxiety in x number of weeks? Nah, didn't think so.

The truth is a canine behaviour plan is just like therapy and treatment, but for dogs instead of humans. It takes time and is something you are going to need to work with for months, maybe years, maybe the dog’s entire life.

We strive to make that dog the best version of that dog, that they can be through management, understanding, safety and most importantly time.

Next time you see an advert that claims it can magically fix your dog's behaviour problem. Just think about a human child or a human adult for that matter, with anxiety. Is it ever magically fixed? No. Can it be slowly managed and improved over time. Yes.

Two Terriers focused on owner

We often place expectations on dog's that we place on no other animals at all, even humans. Somewhere along the line large sections of society took on board a mindset where the dog must be "perfect" and stop doing all of the natural behaviours that they are genetically or emotionally driven to do.

How quickly would you throw someone out of your house if they offered to electrocute or choke your child with anxiety until they stopped having outbursts?

Dogs do not owe us what we deem to be perfect behaviours. We owe it to the dog to understand what makes them feel safe, what their genetics are telling them to do, to give them natural safe outlets.
